These past weeks, technology lessons have been about the implementation of a mode of reasoning based on transpositions, similarities, problem statements and analogies, all the while taking into account technical and socioeconomic constraints.
One of the challenges proposed to all 7th to 10th graders was to design a bridge, solving solidity problems, and calculating costs.
The “eldest” (pupils) were allowed to use only 4 sheets of A4 size paper to sustain between 350 and 1,000 grams on a 25 centimetres-long bridge. Many girls would deserve to become civil engineers!
Next week, 10th graders will design and make a protection mask against Covid thanks to the 3D printer of the school.
