PARTICULAR ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION PROTOCOL
Dear parents,
You could follow the pollution rates on the Malaysian Ministry of Environment website here: http://apims.doe.gov.my/apims/hourly3.php.
The school is following the PSI (Pollutant Standard Index) for Wilaya Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Batu Muda.
Every day from 8am, the school will be taking measures according to the PSI level as per below.
Two consecutive necessary actions will be required to modify the notification alert.
0 <PSI <100: normal activity.
On case-by-case basis, the outdoor activities will be reduced for children with allergies, respiratory, or breathing problems.
100 <PSI <150:
Following the Principal’s decision:
Cancellation of outdoor sports activities (EPS, AES, etc …).
- Kindergarten students will have lunch in their classrooms
- The canteen windows will be closed
- The school will communicate internally
- Emails will be sent to inform Families, the Embassy Security Officer and the Cultural Advisor.
150 <PSI <200:
Following the Principal’s decision:
- Confinement of students
- Students will stay in their classes
- Air conditioning will not be used in open circuit
- Outdoor school breaks and school outings are canceled
- Sports activities including those in the gym are canceled
- Kindergarten students will have lunch in their classrooms
- The canteen windows will be closed
- The school will communicate internally
- Emails will be sent to inform Families, the Embassy Security Officer and the Cultural Advisor.
PSI> 200:
Following the Principal’s decision and according to the embassy security officer, the LFKL will be closed for the students and the staff.
- Emails and SMS messages will be sent to families and staff.
- Exception will be made from the unit crisis for school counselors and students convoked for national examinations.
